Maylee grew up with religious parents with conservative ideals, who made her attend church when she was young. Her parents had wanted her to marry a man and have children and be a person of faith, but Maylee didn’t want any of that. Maylee was placed in a generic feminine role, with her mom training Maylee for domestic house labor and being given feminine clothing to wear. When she was a teenager, Maylee began to question her identity. She cut her hair short and started going by the name Mason, but she found out that she didn’t want to be put in a traditionally masuline role either. She went back to her former name, with the new conclusion that she was nonbinary.
She met Clemence when she heard the latter take a tumble, and soon developed a crush on her. Maylee had been through a breakup prior to this, but now she enjoys spending time with Clemence.
