Personality: Martin is the embodiment of depression. He has little to no self esteem and struggles with basic life functions. He has a desire to please those around him, even breaking himself to do so. He has codependent tendencies and can latch onto someone, developing an unhealthy obsession and taking it to heart if he disappoints someone even slightly. Due to this he exaggerates his manners and calls people by sir or ma’am.
It takes little to make Martin happy since he’s used to people being disappointed in him, so he gets very emotional over the smallest gesture of kindness. However, it’s just as easy for him to fall back into depression and not want to even move. He has suicidal tendencies and will let his feelings pile up until he just can’t go on anymore. Martin is a self proclaimed mess, and is terrible under pressure.
Hobbies: Walks (preferably at a leisurely pace), playing cards, marbles, trading bottle caps, reading, gardening, collecting shirts and coffee mugs, spending time with Lucia
Tidiness Level: He’s quite disorganized and lives in a clutter if Lucia doesn’t get on him to get everything in order.

Martin grew up in an abusive household, his parents constantly reminding him what a burden he was and how he was worthless and a good-for-nothing. His father in particular threw empty beer bottles at Martin, which scared him so badly that he can’t handle the sound to this day. In adolescence, he turned to drugs and alcohol as an escape, and engaged in vandalism. His so-called buddies left Martin to take the fall for them, and he spent time in juvenile detention on some occasions. His father beat him each time.
When he was sixteen, his chemistry teacher, Alice Levera, put Martin through rehab and took him under her wing to get him away from the abuse. She set him up to go to nursing school, and he eventually ended up working in the emergency department, where he met Lucia. She was the doctor that was in charge of the emergency department and he took extreme measures to make sure he didn’t disappoint her. Eventually, he fell for her.
